Palembang, S Sumatra, (Antarasumsel.com) - The Palembang immigration office has deported seven Chinese nationals since January 2017 for violating their stay permits.
The Chinese citizens were booked in line with Law No. 6 of 2011 and were sanctioned by being deported, Jompang, head of the supervision and sanction section of the Palembang immigration office, stated here, Tuesday.
The Chinese were identified as Heilong Jang, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Heilong Jiang, Jiansu, Shanxi, and the latest, 27-year-old Lai Leping, who was deported on Friday (Mar 17).
Meanwhile, the immigration authorities in Riau Province had deported eight other Chinese nationals illegally employed in the construction of a thermal power plant in the Riau provincial capital of Pekanbaru earlier this March.
With the deportation of the eight Chinese nationals by the local immigration authorities, the count of deported Chinese citizens since early February 2017 reaches 43. They were among 88 Chinese nationals arrested in a raid in mid-January 2017.
Sutrisno said the remaining 45 Chinese nationals will be deported in stages.
He said the immigration officers faced no problems in deporting the Chinese nationals.
"The problem only arises with regard to their flight, as they have to be directly flown to their country without transit," he noted.
The immigration officers, with the help of the local manpower and demography office, found the 88 Chinese nationals when they conducted a raid on the power plant construction site in mid-January 2017.
